My son has had 3 brain tumor surgeries since 2009 and soon will have radiation and chemo. He has a slow growing tumor but there is no cure. He is brilliant but can feel his brain slipping and not remembering just like Charlie. Book deeply moves him since he too is slowly fading mentally. Any one dealing with a loved one with a brain tumor would do well to read this book. It will help them a tiny bit to understand what it is like to deal with a brain that slowly declines. There are times he gets frustrated when easy mental tasks are harder to do. His left side is weakened and he is clumsy but still he fights to be independent. And like those in the book who loved Charlie, we can try to help but eventually the tumor will win. Very moving and powerful book. When able my son is a motivational speaker who encourages people to never give up.
