I would like to come on this platform and give this show the stars that it deserves. The vitriolic slander that I saw when reading 1 star reviews was unfathomable. It is fine to not like something, but the attacks seem quite personal. I am and will continue to be a fan of Amber's show. I stumbled over the Google rating as I was trying to figure out when the show was coming back because I missed it and often find my self watching reruns of 'Amber Says What' for doses of her irresistible energy and persona. It is quite sad to see people spend their time trying to tear down the work of a person who is finding her footing in her role as host. No offense to Seth Meyers but it took years for his late night talk show to get to the heights it has reached today. Give everyone the grace to grow. I still can't believe one of the 1 star ratings said Amber is "weird," so she doesn't deserve a show? I like to see weird out of the box characters on television, different isn't always a bad thing. In conclusion, The Amber Ruffin Show is a gem, some could say a diamond in the rough, but a gem none the less. P.S. I wanted to keep race and gender out of my review, but "reverse racism" is one of many reasons people don't like the show, as if calling out the centuries long oppression of BIPOC people is bad, it's unreal to me. Also someone said the "communists are winning" which showcases to me that a few of these people may be highly misinformed in regards to political systems and may have been indoctrinated by the 2nd red scare or someone who grow up in that era. P.S.S. Some people who rated this show 1 star just said they didn't find it funny, but they thought Amber Ruffin would probably be great/ok in person, which I think is fair.
