Beautiful game with updated graphics and all of the functions and abilities as the original. After wasting too much time to it growing up, I thought I could go down memory lane at least a little bit.
The updated graphics and shared stash space are great additions to the game and allow offline characters to easily share loot. It is also much easier to find and play with it being ported to all the consoles as well as PC.
I purchased on Switch so that I could have the game be mobile and played whenever I had time. Sadly, logging in REQUIRES an internet connection. If you plan on taking your game anywhere, don't get Diablo 2: Resurrected. If you happen to stop playing the offline game mode without an internet connection, you will lose character progression as well. It seems your character is not saved locally even with "Save and Exit". There is no warning about potentially losing progress.
I just lost about a week of personal play time due to my character being sent back 4 acts. Weirdly, the shared stash space saved correctly, but my character did not. Lost all the loot from those 4 acts that I transferred onto the character. So the stash saves, but not characters?!
I do not have any review of the online mode since I did not play that mode under the assumption I would be mobile and without dedicated internet (SWITCH!)
It was fun while it lasted. But I have no interest continuing to play a game where you can lose a week or more of investment.
