Heartwarming! It's an uplifting story of how early defeats and disappointments can be overcome by not giving up.

One of my all-time favorite movies. It is low-key, has humor, well-paced, with memorable supporting actors. And don't be intimated by the presence of Burt Lancaster who excels but does not dominate as the leader of a major oil company who sends the hero to buy a town in Scotland. More films like this one would be very welcome!
