Interesting the film is asking us to root for the backstabbing friend and cheating fiancé. No matter how “terrible” Darcy is she is up front and real about it. I can respect that. Rachel is sneaky and self involved. She misses her chance with her dream guy by trying to play hard to get in front of her friend who is a go getter when it comes to what she wants.
There’s no depth to any of the characters. That’s not to say that they didn’t try it just wasn’t successful.
This film would be a great tutorial on how to friend zone yourself and blame others for having what’s not yours. As well as how to be a conniving best friend and a slimy fiancé.
I really hate these underdog films where the apparent “underdog” is a girl who has a bad haircut, no style, and has a little to no personality. Pitying yourself is not a personality trait and it’s for sure not cute.
