Some Star Wars shows are still good, but Kathleen Kennedy and Leslye Headland have gotta go. This is by far the worst Star Wars yet, and it’s been on a downward trajectory lately. Get some writers who have some respect George Lucas’ Star Wars instead of these people who laugh at lifelong Star Wars fans for wanting the storyline to just sync up well with what we already have.
The only reason I’ll finish this show is because I appreciate Lee Jung-jae and his portrayal of Sol. He actually gave some respect, and was inspired by classic Jedi like Qui-Gon, and it shows. Props to that guy.
There are surely a few others in The Acolyte who actually understand what Star Wars is (was) about, but the writers are in it for themselves, which also shows, and that’s why it’s almost complete garbage.
People are pushing back against the political stuff because it’s so obviously an agenda. Nobody cared when there were lesbians in Andor because it was GOOD WRITING. Those were believable, good characters, and you could watch that show and feel like you were there. When The Acolyte tries it, you just remember you’ve got to get some sleep for work tomorrow. Absolutely awful.
The Acolyte: 1/10
Kathleen Kennedy: 1/1000
Leslye Headland: 1/1000
Dave Filoni: 6/10
George Lucas: 9.5/10
Lee Jung-jae (Sol): 8/10, but a 10/10 for effort
