The author Thomas Ainsworth claims he has spent time researching the history of Newcastle United. I am only up to page 40 and have already found three errors as follows :- Malcolm MacDonald didn’t come thro the Youth System he was purchased from Luton Town in 1971 for £180.000.00 Tottenham won the first European Cup in 1963 the European Cup Winners Final 5-1 against Atletico Madrid. Newcastle didn’t win the Fairs Cup until 1968. Chapter 4. Joe Harvey and the Fairs Cup Win. The photograph at the beginning on page 37 is not Joe Harvey of Newcastle United but Joe Harvey Shannon Retail Innovation Owner. On page 55 he now claims Percy the Penguin has a special place in the hearts of Newcastle devoted fans as a mascot. I have read many books on Newcastle United the history, team and players and I am very disappointed with this publication. If I had been able to read any reviews on this book I would certainly not purchased this copy.
