If you enjoy hypocritical main characters who act totally unhinged this movie is for you. [SPOILER] Shelby's actions in the last twenty minutes of the film are arguably among the most conceited of any character in the 2024 Netflix slate. The, "I'll put my ex-boyfriend in jail for a crime he didn't commit. Why? Well, he was an immature man who made foolish decisions and lied to me." decision is a grossly hypocritical one from Shelby. A character who, throughout the majority of the movie, does nothing but make Cyrus the villain in her's and the groups' eyes. Cheating is a terrible thing to do to another human. Well, so is locking them behind bars for a crime you know they did not commit. The other, most glaring, flaw comes from including Beatrice as a secret antagonist. Which, did less than nothing to drive the story forward. It could've simply been Forbes who made the various moves throughout the film and, while that would have made the movie more predictable than it already is...At least it would've been consistent with the character's personality as the "shady, mysterious friend". To reiterate, if you enjoy hypocritical characters, flailing plot lines that are labeled as "mind-bending" and plot twists that have absolutely zero impact for the average or avid viewer, then this movie is for you.
