A review for those actually wanna watch it. Gunjan Saxena is an inspiring biopic. The movie left me teary eyed. Those who are creating a controversy around it, please avoid blind hate before actually watching the movie. The nepotism angle is subjective to the audience. And it has been cleared that it had little or nothing to do with SSR. Those actors whom you all are shaming can do well with a good script. Take Neerja for an example. Janhvi Kapoor has tried her best and her effort is appreciable and great. It's when delivering the monologues her acting feels weak. But she has done a commendable job.
Pankaj Tripathi as usual being the natural actor and a legend that he is, the rest of the cast contribute really well. The shots, the Kargil War sequences, SSB interview, the flight sequences have been executed very well. The dialogue writing is phenomenal !
Personally, I thought the dramatization of the gender point in the IAF was a bit more in the movie. But it's a movie, and dramatization are bound to happen. And they have cleared this at the start of the movie itself that IAF supports Equality in the Sky. Those who see a
movie and think that this was the "actual" reality have got to understand that the movie is "inspired" by those events and that does necessarily mean that what would have happened back then.
A great watch, an inspiring movie for today's generation and obviously especially the girls and not just girls it inspires all of to go beyond your comfort zone and prejudices set by the society and test your limits.
If you are still adamant at the nepotism angle, then please watch it for Pankaj Tripathi's brilliant acting and Gunjan Saxena ji's inspiring heroics during the Kargil War.
You will not be disappointed.
