My grandson is nearly 4 and loves being read to. This book was his first experience of chapters and of not getting the whole book in one session. He loved it and kept asking about the characters during the day ahead of his nightly chapter. He was so gripped by the story that he did not mind when some pages did not have pictures and he regularly asks me to read the book again.
