Angrezi Medium is not as rib tickling, but at the very least it is heartwarming, a movie which might not be a one time watch, but it has its share of good moments. The film is sweet, but the length could have been shorter as the film is a bit dragging. Despite this, the acting makes up for it. Irrfan is good at portraying a doting father who can literally travel miles for his daughter's happiness...baaghi 3's sarhadein tagline is more apt describing angrezi medium.
Deepak dobriyal with his quirks and eccentricities can make you guffaw but his Pappi Bhaisaab in TWM franchise remains unbeatable in terms of comic timing. However, he doesn't disappoint. Radhika Madan as the ambitious Tarika grabs eyeballs and shows a lot of potential as an artist. Kiku Sharda gives an adorable performance. However, the limited screen time for Ranveer Shorey, Dimple Kapadia and Kareena Kapoor doesn't give them time to shine through. But it is worth appreciating that Angrezi medium did not rely on the bankability of stars, instead it brought home a sweet tale which is a good watch for the weekend with family.
I rate it 3 on 5 stars.
