This series was above excellent in casting, directing, production and most impressive was its accuracy. My mother was born and raised in a small town outside of Versailles. The stories and her experiences she shared with us children were perfectly alined with the portrayal of this war in this series, even to the small but significant detail of the joyful and overwhelming reception these soldiers receive as they paraded through the towns. My mother said “we were so happy to see them that all of us town folks lined up along the street sides cheering, giving them candies and pastries, throwing flowers and hugging and kissing them! I had never seen anything so exciting in my life!!!” Funny…That was always one of my favorite of her many memories. I was so impressed that this scene was part of this incredible portrayal of such an significant time in history,
