Absolutely heart wrenching, and for a zombie movie, that is quite shocking because most zombie flicks are about the zombies and the kills... this is far more about characters and character development. You really empathize and feel as though you are a part of the story. Some people you will hate, others you will love, and still others you will mourn. That is a testament to great acting (particularly on the part of the little girl).
