Watched M in Dino. Wellโฆ no one said that it is a musical and an exasperating one of its kind!! A potpourri of casting , places, relationships and arrrrrrghโฆ music!! Found it a very shallow and finicky portrayal of relationships in the lives of MOSTLY the rich people. Nothing hard hitting, nothing concrete about the flings/(whatever) ship these characters have, with an exception perhaps to the one that Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher seemed to share. Every bond/ association/ partnership appeared frivolous, farcical offering nothing consequential or substantial. The prequel was, undoubtedly, a class apart! Anurag Basu seemed to have taken up a challenge to complete a movie along the lines of its predecessor with a LOT of music this time and all of it to be done in a hurry! Prolific actors like Neena gupta, Anupam Kher, Konkana, Pankaj Tripati have been constrained from exhibiting their acting skills because the โgreat music bandโ of Pritam has to be showcased singing on top of buildings, chimneys and pedestals before the actors themselves could demonstrate the crescendo of their scenes!!! On the whole, the movie did not appeal much to me as I am left with a feeling of dissatisfaction after watching such great actors fade away into the periphery due to a weak storyline, an even weaker direction and an absolutely nonsensical music!!!
While harping on the topic of music, it may have sounded good but I felt that the customary Bollywood infusion of the same would hv bn better than the sight of this band popping out of nowhere in every major scene. It appeared as if they were telling the actors โ hey buddy.. need to emote? not your cup of tea, leave to us we shall convey what u intend to say/ portray!โ
