My friend was gifted this book from a family member and showed me some of the writing in it. I feel it was awful and not relatable at all, not everything happens just because you're a woman. There can be certain obstacles and mental illness making life difficult for a growing girl, not everything is the same for everyone. It's also important to note that everyone processes things differently, not just that a girl's mind can't process negative comands. Dieting and weight loss are mentioned in it, and that's also not great for a girl to constantly be reminded about. Any size is okay, weight loss shouldn't always be a goal. The book could be relatable for some girls, but it feels somewhat toxic with the "girls will be girls" concept. My friend also disliked the book, stating it made them uncomfortable and some things in the book felt off. It may be a good source for some parents, but it's not for everyone. It could also give men a bad impression on why some women act a way, as if they would only need to improve on themselves.
