Don't listen to the one star reviews written by people that didn't even get the book. I didn't experience the issues mentioned by the people with negative reviews. Only thing that I can somewhat agree with is it is a little pricey but I suppose the price is to be expected with hardback books with color pictures. I think its a great book packed full of amazing information. This book isn't a history book about the old pioneers, or a survival guide for the paranoid prepped. It really just explains and instructs skills used in the old days. There's so many pictures of drawn illustrations as well as real life pictures for making things and foraging for edible wild plants. Many different sections on old techniques in building, hunting, trapping, cooking, storage and more.
