Beautifully tragic. This film will sit with me for a while and I felt so empty leaving the theatre. Iโm not a big Aronofsky fan but he did a great job with this, didnโt think he was capable of making a movie this subdued. Brendan Fraser is as good as advertised, and he deserves all the praise. Characters are well fleshed out and dialogue was solid.
The only thing I would say to criticize it is that it lacks subtlety in some of the choices it makes and the daughter is cartoonishly evil to an unrealistic degree. That being said, it was still a great character study about a man who has given up on life and tries to write his wrongs once and for all.
