My daughter has been a labor and delivery nurse for 25 plus years and surrounded by colleagues, staff and doctors who are dedicated to protecting the lives of the unborn at earlier and earlier months and weeks after conception.
And despite these heroic efforts to protect life there are sad moments when there is a stillbirth and loss of the unborn baby for any reason.
I have witnessed and attended an evening of prayer, hosted by these dedicated nurses and doctors, to honor the lost lives of the unborn in the past year. Mothers, dads, brothers, sisters, grandparents and friends of the unborn who died attended this prayer service.
The testimony given by the mothers about their love of their unborn child, who celebrated their birthdate and date of death on the same day, affected me deeply.
Similarly, in Unplanned, I was deeply affected by each and every woman who agonized over the decision to terminate their pregnancy.
If you attend the movie observe the pregnant clients....there is no sign of joy, nor hope, nor happiness as there is in the maternity ward of each and every hospital in the world where life is celebrated, honored and protected by medical professionals even when the date of birth and date of death is on the very same day.
