It’s a ponderous script but quite fascinating and although a bit anachronistic in its messages, not overly so since many of the themes are touched on by Shakespeare through his various characters. The acting is powerful, the interpretations and politics believable, the music and visuals mesmerizing, all culminating in a battle fought hypnotically in the mud of Agincourt.
Moving and impressive, this film strips off the grand gestures and vocals and does not flinch from plunging us into the underbelly of war.
