As someone who has read most of The Decameron, I think this show does a great job of capturing the essence of its humor and interlacing the individual stories into the characters. And I think it is hilarious. The humor is not for everyone, but believe me they dialed it down from the potty humor of the original.

I love the back and forth between scholars rewriting history, the fact that the characters who receive the power use it for both good and bad, the complexity of the characters and plot. It's a great read, if you you like to think.

The story overall is interesting and has some good philosophy. However, I didn't
find it all that original or thought-provoking. And, to be perfectly honest, I can't get past a relationship between a 16-18 yr old and 57 yr old shown as though it is natural and healthy.
