Full of unbelievable and gaping plot holes. Nobody with a critical mind and an even barebones knowledge of how the world works would buy a second of this film. It painstakingly trie to stoke the fires of patriotism through the desecration of various symbols, but falls flat. The dialogue is often corny and unbelievable. There’s excess blood thrown around in an attempt to show the gravity of the situation, when all it does is produce laughter or groans at its detachment from reality.
I have seen a lot of big budget action films. The good ones either get you to suspend disbelief through the quality of the script, acting, or through other means, or the movie winks at you and laughs with the audience at what it’s doing. This does neither. Gerard Butler is the one saving Grace of this movie. He manages to put in a half-decent performance with almost nothing to pull from this is one of the most shallow, unbelievably terrible action films I have ever seen. Stay away and save yourself two hours of your time.
