You know, honestly, the judges on this show are SUCH pretentious dirkwads... I wouldn't eat in one of their restaurants if you PAID me. I was fine dining coordinator for twenty years for a Japanese company based in Chicago (which IS a food mecca) and I found there were really TWO kinds of chef.... those in love with the food and the people they serve it to, and those in love with themselves and their own pretentions.... Joe and Gordon are DEFINITELY the latter... and Aaron is heading in that direction (the chunky guy on previously - Graham Elliot - was altogether unwatchable.. I took ONE group ONCE to his Chicago restaurant before it deservedly failed, and we ended up leaving our meal uneaten and going to Rick Bayless'!). NOT all "celebrity chefs" are pompous a##holes.... think Rick Bayless, Julia Child, or even Christopher Kimball..... any one of whom could put a beautiful spread in front of you AND charm you completely..... (Julia is gone and Kimball isn't even a chef, per se.... I just think they epitomize a love of food and sharing it that is something I doubt Ramsey and Bastianich EVER knew....) These three? Not so much.
