How is nobody talking about the subtlety of her undergoing a major transition??? From "female/ princess/ bride" to victor, warrior, honored and accepted. With every stop and go here and there she lost pieces of her typical princess wears. From the ceremonial gown to the beads around her neck etc. And eventually building up herself in who she was meant to be. Armor piece by armor piece. She was a strong woman always who slowly throughout built on that visually. I thought that was magnificent. And the bloody and constant battle really seems to distract from that which I think is a true testament to the meaning of the movie. The testament of being underestimated and overlooked.
And if that doesn't interest you further. The overweight guy who was easily forgotten earlier on humorously shows up at the last minute in the end. Oh God I almost died laughing so hard. I did, I totally forgot about him 🤣 that was a rich way to end the movie.
Overall the main trip-up for people seems to be lack of spoken word. Honestly I'm ok with it. It was straight forward about what was all happening and why. And everything spoken was at least evenly sporadic and intentional and not really done poorly.
