Some things were good, some things bad. The changes to Mulan’s character took away from her depth and complexity. The movie was less feminist than the old one and was more of a pseudo-girl power film. However, the addition of the witch was very good - she was a strong, empathetic character who added greatly to the quality of the movie. Overall, it took itself a little too seriously and was somewhat boring, but still pretty good. Just take it with a grain of salt.
