The director simply made it marvelous. Original yet surpasses the comics and other Joker adaptations (except for Heath Ledger of course). Phoenix put up an original portrayal of the joker.
The brilliance of the movie can't be put into words and celebrated enough. Definitely one of the best movies I have ever watched. However, the movie was slightly predictable but NOT cliche.
