i just got done watching it on netflix, i was very excited to see this film but i had to wait for it to be free on streaming platforms. as soon as i saw it on the home page, i quite literally let out a small scream. the movie was very predictable for me, and sometimes cliché. but as a major horror fan, i dont care whether a movie is “bad”, as long as it has cool deaths and gore or if its centered around something i like. for this instance, tarot cards/witchcraft and cool deaths. i personally loved this movie. i was so excited to see what each major arcana looked like and how they would kill. the magician and the fool creeped me out the most! i loved the atmosphere of the magician scene, where he was on stage and the eerie people in the audience. i could almost smell the room, its a musky scent and i love it! i loved how the fool’s clown mask/face changed emotion and appearance in the blink of an eye. i have a fear of black holes and big empty black masses, so when it showed a close up of the fool’s mouth wide open, it made me a tad bit uncomfy but i lived for it. as predictable and cliché as it was, it was still unique in a way and i still very much enjoyed it. it reminded me of final destination! (one of my favorite horror movie series). i dont care TOO much for originality, i think a movie can still be awesome even if its inspired by or similar to another film. especially if i love the film it’s similar to, it just makes me more excited!
