Sat through this movie only to find out if anything redeems it in its runtime. That was not to be. From the start itself, Rashmika's jarring speech is evident but one may wish to stay the course since there's still time to go and characters to watch. But as the movie progresses, one realises how none of them comes to save it except maybe to an extent with the help of everyone's fav Sunil Grover whose antics and charm never goes amiss to anyone.
The screenplay is devoid of much thought or depth. Since the audience is split as to which side has the movie offended, the side of a certain faith or the faithless, the aspect of propaganda can be ignored. But on that subject, the movie wants you to be open to different ideas and not shun anything completely without any thought. Although again, this age old argument that faith has answered what science hasn't is something that's been far discussed and one knows that we are increasingly aware of our realities as science's horizon expands.
Most of the subplots and scenes seemed forced and placed to evoke an emotion out of the audience. A job, otherwise, an able screenplay organically enables the viewer to relate to and further enrich the experience.
Cinema is subjective, true. But a film when done right feels and rings different. Keeping that in mind this movie, at the very best, comes across as underwhelming.
