One of the most uplifting clever funny books I've read for a while andso en pointe!. Great wordsmithing, plot and character depth. Even the author 's post note made me laugh. Looking forward to finding Meg's other reads now. Highly recommend

Nothing like a bit of misogyny and power imbalance for romance hey! The power balance between the protagonists and the control the man has over the woman perpetuates bad relationships. What a shame. It could be a good book without his "quick to temper" nature (nothing like walking on eggshells for power imbalance) and grabbing her wrists and going from savouring chivalry to "helping her out of the car". Ughh!! She's a renowned academic who can't open her own car door or know when she is hungry or how to ride. Thank God Matthew is there telling her when to ride, sleep etc etc..breathe...VOMIT!
