A decent Batman movie.. However it doesn't bring anything groundbreaking or genre changing to the name. I feel there's a lack of defining memorable standout moments. If your expecting an all out, action packed ride your going to be disappointed. It's essentially a slow, steady murder mystery with action scenes now and again.
Visually fitting, dark and gloomy ambience, the story focuses on corruption and murder. Essentially younger viewers fond of Batman will probably have a hard time following the plot. The 3 hour run time at times felt a bit dragged out.
Main Character wise, The Penguin doesn't appear that often and thus doesn't leave much of an impression and The Riddler just feels like your standard serial killer with no fresh/unique take on the persona. A shame, as I was hoping for a villain perhaps on the same level as Heath ledgers Joker from the trailers shown.
R-patz as Batman and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman work well.
Though I am interested for a sequel regarding a specific moment..
The Batman feels like its the start of something with potential.
