Visually well made. I liked the moments with Carl Sagan the most. The story suffered from a few filler action sequences that did not advance the characters. The setting was nearly unused, with a lot of small locations for scenes and lacking subtle story telling like Pixar's previous movies. I did not want to continue watching.... I was/am a "loner" that loves science, but could not connect to Elio the character. I also could not help but internally compare Elio the movie to Galaxy Quest in tone and some major beats.
