Taylor Swift’s “folklore” is a departure from the typical “Taylor sound.” Haunting lyrics combined with a subtle steel guitar—each song is taking you down a different path. Each song has a different mood. Each song has a different story. Taylor’s album shows how much she has grown as not only a singer but as a writer. A noticeable departure from the sounds of “Lover,” “folklore,” takes you down a path of feelings that music in 2020 has not achieved. What I love most about this album is the music. Subtle sounds that are missed while driving down the road come to life and bring a brand-new feeling to the song when listened to through headphones. The musical arrangements of her songs are more complicated than we are used to—in a good way. I give this album five stars—definitely worth a listen!
