My six year old said this was the best film he'd ever watched. We saw it in 4dx which did add to the excitement and worked well with the style of the film. The characters were great, it was visually beautiful, and had some great themes in between the storyline, such as the importance of following your own path. It also challenges common movie stereotypes such as falling in love with someone just because they 'rescue' you.
Really sad to see the amount of people posting such prejudiced reviews because the teenage boy in the film has a briefly mentioned crush on another boy. If your child was gay, imagine the impact your narrow-mindedness will have. If your child is straight, they will almost certainly encounter LGBT people in school, parents of their classmates, friends, university, jobs, the world in general - seeing LGBT representation is giving your child a realistic view of the world and a message of equality. It's a shame people can say 'children are too young to see relationships' but heterosexual relationships are fine, including a man kissing a sleeping woman, a woman falling in love with a beast, and men and women falling in love/marrying instantly.
All in all, Strange World wasn't as memorable or enthralling as other Disney films (the storyline seemed a little stretched, and wasn't clear at times) but very enjoyable and well worth a watch!
