i have over 1725 films in my collection ( dvd Blu ray ) .I recently catalogued them . which has revived my collectors interest plus I realised I must watch them too . So having an interest in the super hero genre . I have either watched existing or added to these . Having exhausted the Avengers and DC. I moved onto the Xmen some going back over 20 years .
Having now watched and payed over ยฃ1 for a blu ray of Deadpool . I can honestly say . I can see why it's so easy to get for ยฃ1 I would have given it an extra half a star for trying but could not give 3 . My main grievance is the annoying asides by the main character . Constantly reminding you that this is a film , on a low budget , he specifically mentions this ; referencing that only 2 xmen could be afforded . then gives camera directions towards the end Though he wasn't the director. Asides from the actors goes back to Shakespeare but in this instance just distracts from an already weak plot . I struggled to get to the end . It's not clever , it's just contrived and harking back to well worn gimmicks from previous films . we know that super hero films are fantasy and maybe even have the odd cliche stories but you don't ram it down our throats . You don't kill the goose that lays the golden egg . I don't know what other people who loved the film were watching . Can only imagine they were so distracted by the mindless violence , they didn't listen to the dialogue . With a fair bit of editing you might get a 3 star film out of this . I recorded the second film from the TV but now i am wondering if it's worth spending the time to watch it . Maybe better to watch the original Adam West Batman film at least that is genuinely funny and gently pokes fun at super heroes
