Pretty mediocre film. Took my family to see it and we all agreed that the first one was way better. It's not that this film was bad, it just wasn't that good. The story is quite simple and bland, there were parts that were confusing or could have been omitted entirely and the story would have been unaffected. The songs were decent but not that memorable. This sounds really negative now that I'm writing my thoughts haha. Yeah, this movie was for sure a "one and done" for me.

Right off the bat, I'll just start with: Unicorn Overlord is awesome! Vanillaware just makes some wonderful stuff and so far (I'm not too far into the game yet) this title is a blast! The game is beautiful to look at and listen to. The art and music have really captivated me! The world map is fun to explore and I'm happy to find mini-games and activities scattered throughout the map. Even though I'm not that far into the game, I'm already impressed with the sheer amount of character classes and am excited to unlock them all. I also like that I can recruit so many characters and build relationships with them. I've only scratched the surface as far as party mechanics and skill customization goes. I've also been so focused on side quests and repairing towns that I haven't progressed too much in the main story (sorry Scarlet, you'll just have to wait). But the main story, while simple so far, is intriguing enough. All-in-all, I'm loving the game! So much so that this game actually managed to pull my attention away from FF7 Rebirth, and I'm a lifelong FF Fan...so that's pretty impressive :-). I would totally recommend this game if you're a fan of RPG's or Strategy Games!

Writing a review for Final Fantasy XVI is difficult. On one hand, I am absolutely loving the game so far...but on the other hand I have found myself, at times, asking "What am I playing?". It is so different from the traditional Final Fantasy's. A lot of the "RPG" stuff in particular has really changed or just seems kind of included just so the game could still be called an RPG. I do miss the traditional RPG Party mechanics, the customization, the occasional minigames and quirkiness that come with Final Fantasy... but then I love this new game that SE has put out as well. I wouldn't have complained if this was a spinoff Final Fantasy Title and not a mainline entry, but I get that times change and the company wants to try something new. I just hope that in the future they'll go back to the traditional formula still.

I wouldn't give this game a thumbs up or a thumbs down, as I find it to be quite mediocre. When I first started playing, I loved it! However, about 30+ hours in, I found the story to be pretty lackluster and I lost a lot of interest. I also found the combat to be way too chaotic with all the dash strikes and warping around. The magic system was pure trash and I never used it....(sorry but it is). I did LOVE how you could listen to past FF tracks while driving in the car! What a wonderful addition to the game! The graphics, open world, and chocobos were all phenomenal as well. I guess I just expected more from the story and gameplay and also missed a lot of the fantasy that was in previous titles.
