It was an interesting documentary if you don’t know much about him- which I didn’t, if you are a serial killer buff, then don’t bother- you likely know it all.
Also it really highlights white male priviledge, I am surprised this was not stated explicitly. I say this as a white Brit- if this had of been a black male he would have been behind bars after his girlfriend called in. The massive failings on the part of detectives, the failure to really interrogate his first girlfriend who called in. They said they had no evidence but they had a bag of keys (they could have checked these against victims homes and cars) and underwear- would partners not recognise these? As well as weapons.
The underlying truth here as one of his victims said was trust your gut people are sheep, so don’t let yourself get gaslighted by norms. In any situation but especially one where it comes to your safety. And the other, which came from the first witness who fought him off and then took the stand to ID him for kidnapping, is fight for what is right. So sad to hear that she had other women approaching her to say she had the wrong guy bc he was good looking and charming, in reality she would face the same pressures today. Power to her.
