Manmohan Desai's typical illogical and jingoistic but entertaining film. You may laugh at it and also laugh with it. That was the Man-ji magic! Film was released on 8.11.1985. A charity premiere in aid of IMPPA Welfare Fund was held at Metro cinema, Mumbai on 7th. As Sanjeev Kumar had expired on 6th, no stage function was held. Only Amitabh Bachchan came on stage, paid tributes to haribhai and lighted a lamp in front of Sanjeev's photograph.

I had seen the film at new empire cinema,Mumbai, on the next day of the release. (Jan 1953). Ismail Zaveri, son of film's heroine Mehtab Banu was my classmate at St. Xavier's College. (Her son from the 1st marriage). He got us the tickets. The film which had great expectations, turned out a flop. It was a grand movie, but Mehtab Banu in the title role was a big let down. I have not seen the movie. However, the film's director Kiran Merchant being a close friend, I would not have liked to give an opinion (positive or negative) in public.

Had seen Nayak in 1966. And again now, after 52 years. Even today it is an interesting watch and remains different.

All time great cinematic experience.

Unfortunately could see only up to the scene where Selina is being kidnapped. The initial outdoor scenes , the shot taking - can't believe this film was made 90 years ago. Actually I remember seeing this film 15-20 Yes ago at mumbai's Max Muller Bhavan, when a piano musician played b.g. music live.
