Whilst Rebirth was an attempt to take the saga to a new era, it ends up taking it down to the depth of 'desperate.' Desperate story line, desperate acting Whilst individually each one of the cast are good in their own right, this latest installment, fails to gel them as an overall unit. At times the storyline was weak disjointed even and needs a strong lead to bridge these gaps. Alas there was no one to help pull this off. Visuals aside, there's nothing new here, bar the poor execution. Some scenes of the inhabited island are deliberately reminiscent of the scenes from the original Jurassic Park, but I can't think but to feel if this was for nostalgia or for a desperate attempt to grasp onto some safety net from the past. Overall the movie was rather flat and relies heavily from AI, CGI and it's predecessors to generate interest. Even with a seasoned cast, the subpar performance ultimately fails to drive forward a poor storyline.
