The movie itself is alright at best. It's a lot of cliches and tropes and the action is adequate at best. Visually, it's frankly quite impressive. Story-wise, it's infuriating. It's as if the creators skimmed through the book, looked at the pictures and came up with a story on the spot. The world, the plot and the characters are entirely different (and worse) than what was in the book. There is no Convergence, there is no divine intercerebral intelligence, there are no neurocaster zombies and there are no combat drones like you see in the book. Those uncannily organic robots built by the neurocaster addicts? No, those are scavs now! I'm incredibly disappointed by this movie.
If you read the book, do not watch this. If you haven't, watch it, I guess. I unfortunately read the book.
