If nothing else, the plot, developing as a classic whodunit, it’s absolutely worth it just to watch the fantastic performances each actor shows in its last episode. This series starts with a familiar, tried and true combo for success: beautiful location, great cast, comedic thriller. First few episodes feel as if Big Little Lies and The White Lotus were put on a blender, too referential for the viewer to give it respect as a unique groundbreaking show, at times dragging in its predictability. Kidman is hypnotizing as usual, and well supported by her cast mates. I see a second season coming.

What can I say, after watching AJLT, I ran to rewatch SATC in all its glorious seasons, to avoid tarnishing my memory of the most fabulous comedy series ever made. It has some moments, here and there, but lacks the playfulness, hope, and romantic undertone of the original. SATC was a show about friendship, and in this one, the most noble friend of the four, is absent. Above all, it’s not narrated by Carrie.

Just finished watching. I was hoping to see a story about humanity and resilience in the face of disaster, and instead I kept seeing the testimony of these three Israelites showing the world they are the most undignified kind of people in the world. No ethics, no empathy, just me me me, survival at the expense of everybody else. Greedy, unaware, self centered bullies. As many others (had to google it bcs I couldn’t believe it) I wanted to punch the screen. There was also an american being an american, clueless in his unawareness, but his self centeredness seemed more reflective of a blatant idiot not so much of malice as the Israelites. They bring shame to the Jewish community.
