It’s kind of like “baby’s first trauma book”. It didn’t teach new information but rather reiterated its same points over, and over, and over again, and explained the same trauma mechanisms we’ve all heard with no real response except, to summarize the book, “hope you’ve got good friends in life, man!”. It’s a book on trauma wherein two individuals who hold the privilege to lounge and learn about themselves and study their interests speak on how terrible it is kids have trauma, while also avoiding directly saying “hey, if everyone had housing and access to food and water we would all be better to ourselves and each other”. I kept waiting for real information, but it’s simply a woman with the wealth and status to engage in spiritual wish-wash talking to a psych who made his name off his work with her having a conversation under the guise of real answers.
