Disappointed. Both the acting and writing were the biggest failing points for me. SHOW don’t TELL! Although I thought some actors did quite well the younger ones could’ve used more direction from the director and team. It seemed like they just took one take of everything and just rolled with it. I’m a huge fan of the original series, but I am totally okay with them re-imagining or expanding the ATLA universe, but this show seemed to dramatically fall short. I didn’t expect it to live up to the original series but wow it was not great! I found it boring and hard to watch with its awkward staging and dialogue. Katara’s rewrite was particularly annoying, and her acting was stiff and not on par with the other cast. Hopefully we get a better season 2.
