I wanted it to be like the book. Shortly after starting it, I at least hoped it would be an interesting take on a similar story. Then I realized it had trashed everything great about the book. The nuance is totally lost. Everything is dumbed down to Hollywood standards. If you love the book, don’t watch it. I wish I hadn’t.
