While I have enjoyed the series I was deeply distressed over a small part of this last and final episode of the season. After class, a young man comes up to Evan and asks to talk with him, he says, because he's questioning his "orientation". Evan brushes him off with some offhand and pretty stupid advice. "It's the 21st Century, just go and be gay!" Really? It's so mean and uncalled for, why is it even in the script? There's no payoff, no realization for Evan that he had been rude and dismissive. You lost me there.

I liked this series a lot. It took it's time to tell the story, which was complex. I'm really annoyed that it ended with so many lose ends, but I guess they'd planned on a second season which isn't going to happen. I'll just have to write the ending that I want. Or maybe read the book.
