If youโve seen and enjoyed rebels, youโre definitely going to like this show! Itโs practically rebels season 5, but in live action. The 2 episode premiere was great, did an amazing job at introducing our new antagonists (Baylan and Shin), showing their involvement with Morgan Elsbeth and their motives, while introducing us to familiar Rebels characters (Sabine, Hera, Chopper and ofc Ahsoka) and their relationships, motives, conflicts etc. One thing the show has achieved to do already that Mandalorian S3 failed to do is actually have a sense of direction. Itโs a simple yet affective plot, our antagonists want to find Thrawn and free him from his exile for either a new beginning or ultimate power, and our protagonists want to find Thrawn to put a stop to any threat he may cause to the New Republic, and potentially find Ezra. Holy $hit Disney has actually created a good plot, that isnโt confusing, convoluted or leaves you scratching your head wondering which direction the shows even going in. Also Iโm definitely hard on Disney, and think the vast majority of stuff they put out is garbage, like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Book Of Boba Fett, Mando S3 etc, so Iโm thoroughly impressed Disney has managed to make a good show (at least for now). Outside of the characters and plot, the show is visually beautiful, great cgi, great directing and fight sequences etc. You can tell a lot of care and love has been out into the show, so it comes as no surprise Dave Filoni is the man responsible. The man who created Ahsoka and Rebelsโฆ who better for the job? He knows what heโs doing. The great thing too is this show is all just a stepping stone for something much larger. Dave has a plan, heโs setting up Thrawn to be the main villain of Star Wars, and Iโm confident heโll deliver. As a huge Rebels and Thrawn fan, as well as someone who has hated the majority of shows Disney has pumped out, this show feels like an absolute treat.
