This is an absolute dumpster fire of a movie. Just awful. Things are made even worse by the first GOOD 30 minutes or so. It tricks you into thinking this will be an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. It’s not. As a huge fan of sci-fi and horror, I weep for how bad this film is and for how far back it will set the genre. The first time an alien catches the protagonist, she gets the drop on it. Cool. Subsequently, every single other time an alien tries to capture her, they succeed and then just kinda stare at her making sci-fi noises until she kills them or escapes. Is there a reason they don’t want to kill her, or convert her? Is she a spy or hybrid? The boring, stupid answer is: No. The aliens are just dumb somehow. The ending is UNFORGIVABLE. They finally manage not to massively screw up her capture, and then release her to be “Queen of Earth” as the only person left who hasn’t been turned. The only POSSIBLE explanation we are given for this is that she is real super sad about killing her best friend during an argument as a kid. Then, they all enjoy a choreographed dance number much to her delight. If it was possible, I would give this movie negative stars. The writers and director should be exiled from Hollywood and be legally barred from ever participating in film or television production ever again. Please don’t waste your time like I did and avoid this movie like the plague it is.
