Haven't completed the game yet but this game definitely worth a much better score.
First thing first - battle 10/10 if not 12/10. The highlight of this game is the battle system and battle animation, which is where Team Ninja really great at. Battle is way more intensive than any open world game I've played - witcher 3, Ghost of tsushima, Assassin creed series, Horizon and etc. Battle is HARD, and is the core of the game. The battle is very fast paced, and difference between a rookie and a pro battle will look absolutely different. Most open world games after awhile battle becomes quite boring, this game, with all the weapon and stances, it will keep you busy for quite awhile.
Story/Side quests 7/10 - story is really focused on 18-19th century Japan revolution. I kinda get that its not as easy to get into the story if you are not familiar with Japan history. I would say the story scores better than Elden Ring (where the story is almost doesn't matter and is told in a very fragmented way), but very much less than Horizon and Ghost of Tushima.
Graphics. Graphics are ok 7/10, not the best.
User friendliness 9/10- I would say its quite friendly. Battle mechanics are pretty easy to understand. Tons of ways to move around (glider, rope, horses, fast travel) so you are not forced to walk for 10 mins. Character aesthetics can be modified all time so you are not stuck with one look or one specific cool equipment. Minus one point given on the language support (no Mandarin for US sales) and translation (sometimes it feels off)
Bottom line: You probably will be very disappointed if you come for a open world game - this is a action game with open world features.
