Halo 4 is not the the 4th game in the Halo series, but is more like the 6th, but is the first by 343 studios. Now each game was slightly different from the game before, as all good games should be, each changing how a gun works, or the enemy types, ect. That being said Halo ODST and Halo Reach were the biggest divergence for the established path and tone but still very good games. I recently picked up and finished Halo Reach, which was my least favorite of the Halo games, but i still enjoyed it. Then after i beat it i picked up Halo 4, after two and a half missions i stopped. The shear amount of things they changed left me frustrated. The first thing that got me was the botton mashing cut scenes to open doors, climb a elevator shaft, or punch an enemy. That got me scratching my head, why not just make a cut scene if you don't actually want me to play. The next thing was when i went to punch an enemy in the back, now Halo Reach had this kill move thing that happened when you held down the melee botton, but if you just tapped it you'd do a normal punch and move on. But in Halo 4 i did a elaborate take down every single time, i had no choice and died a couple times because i couldn't just move on. That left me irritated but i decided to just not melee. Second to last, in all the other games when someone not near to you talked to you their voice would come over radio, it made sense and wasn't distracting. But in Halo 4 there would be this dumb window that would open up amd you would see the face of the person talking, it was distracting and honestly dumb. Then finally the straw that broke the camels back for me. In the third mission i picked up two full weapons, in this case a BR (battle rifle) which shot a three round burst, and a plasma pistol (which is the most common gun in the game and usually over looked) what i would do is charge the pistol and shoot a shielded enemy then switch to the BR and put one burst in the head to kill them fast. I realized really quickly tho that i was going really fast through ammo. So i just started picking up random weapons and i found out i was running out of ammo really quickly, quicker than in any of the other games. This soon left me frustrated because i was going through useful weapons like candy. All this was so distracting and irritating i couldn't continue playing knowing id have to put up with all this. I know the story and i know it isnt bad, but the game itself was not fun to play i couldn't get myself to care for the forced story.
