Same cast of characters which gives the reader a sense familiarity. The plot is too over the top and could have been more grounded. AI brain implants and cloned humans is too much of a scientific stretch. Still nice to catch up with the old NUMA gang.

Plot based novel with waaay too many descriptive unnecessary details that add to the overall plot. A lot of skimmable pages. Clive Cussler novels, it isn’t.

Yes... its fiction but since when is the President a semi- James Bond? Too much unnecessary detail and I've lost interedt halfway through the book. If it had two unknown authors it would have just been another book on the shelf. Doubtful ill even finish it.

Nothing like Shantaram as far as the story. VERY wordy and ultra descriptive beyond the point of tedium. 860 pages could have been reduced by 2/3. Too many characters and preachy to boot. More metaphors than meat. I skimmed through many chapters because they were boring and unnecessary. Gregory David Roberts... you need a better editor!
