Awesome! Proves that a successful American horror TV series need not play the S&M card to prove its hipster cred. (Yes, AHS, I am calling you out. Fetishized sadism isn't scary. It just ain't.)
Subtle & evocative set and costume design. (The house itself is the scariest part of the show.) Good acting, smart writing. Pretty good cinematography. (Pick Dan Laustsen's brain for Season 2, though.) The child actors are well cast and have good screen presence (esp. Julian Hilliard).
Good creepy fun all around!
