Had to stop in the middle because of the constant millenial bashing and the cringe writing of the "stupid uncle". Clifford was beloved and watched by millenial AND gen Z children. Theres other ways of making jokes beside making fun of how a millenial communicates when the movie was based off of what they remembered fondly of in the first place. I'd say it's a low blow for them, but they're not the ones coining after a popular IP like Disney live actions and yet again missing the point.
Making Emily feel like she's an outcast and that she could belong in a private school in the middle of manhattan whle making others excluded because their speech is dated? Thought Clifford brought people together.
Also emily was never the "loser" character. As a teen, the depression was realistic but this writing doesn't scream Emily Elizabeth to me. I dont need to look up to someone who's constantly sad in every movie that's supposed to be happy. She could handle social interactions just fine in the original even with conflict. Only Jetta was the snobby character and it wasn't even mainstream bullying. She just had high standards. Like me with this movie.
